Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers, and what it applies to

This policy applies to this website (eurekaelectricity.net) and, specifically, to the enquiry form that appears on it - the home page, the newsletter page, and the dedicated contact page all use the one form. It covers anyone who submits that form, and any prospective or existing customer whose personal information we hold as a result. If you go on to become a dashboard customer, the same principles continue to apply to information we hold about you and your account.

What we collect

What you give us

When you submit the enquiry form, we collect:

• your name and business name (required)
• your email address (required)
• your phone number, if you give it
• your role, if you give it
• which product or service you say you're interested in
• any message you write to us

What is collected automatically

Each submission also records which page or product it was sent from, so we know what you're asking about. For basic spam and abuse prevention, submissions are rate-limited, and the record we keep of a submission includes a one-way cryptographic hash of the network address it reached us from - never the address itself, and not something we can reverse to find out where you connected from. Our hosting infrastructure also generates standard server request logs, as is normal for any website. We don't use any of this to build a profile of you or to track you; it exists to operate and secure the form, and to keep it free of spam.

Why we collect and use it

Solely to respond to your enquiry and provide the product, sample or information you've asked about, and, if you go on to take up dashboard access, to set up and operate that account. We don't use it to build advertising profiles, and we don't sell it or disclose it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Who it may be shared with

We don't sell your personal information. We use service providers to host our systems and to send email on our behalf - for example, the infrastructure that runs this website and our backend, and the mail service that delivers our replies. Those providers handle information strictly to operate those systems on our instructions; they don't have an independent right to use it for their own purposes.

Where you use our dashboard products, content you upload there (including documents) and market data processed through those products may also be sent to third-party artificial-intelligence providers we engage as service providers, for processing under those providers' own commercial terms. Beyond what's described in this section, we don't disclose your personal information to other organisations.

Storage, and overseas processing

Your information is stored in the systems operated by us and by the service providers described above. Some of those providers deliver infrastructure or services from outside Australia, or may route or process data through servers located overseas as part of how their platforms work, so your personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We take this into account in who we choose to work with, but we don't control the specific countries a provider's infrastructure may operate in, and we're disclosing this generally, in line with APP 8, rather than naming a fixed list of countries that could go out of date.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as is reasonably needed to respond to you, to follow up on a product you've asked about, and to keep a business record of our dealings with you - and longer where we have a legal, accounting or dispute-related reason to. If nothing ever comes of an enquiry, we don't keep it indefinitely for no purpose.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we can't promise that information transmitted over the internet is immune from interception, but we take that responsibility seriously and act promptly if we become aware of an issue.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no tracking or analytics cookies, and loads no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts. We don't track you across sessions or across other sites, and we don't build an advertising profile of you.

We do measure how this site is used and how quickly it loads, using Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights - two measurement tools provided by Vercel, the platform that hosts this site. Vercel is a service provider of ours, as described above, not an advertising or tracking network. Both tools work without setting any cookies, and both load from this site's own domain rather than from a third-party tracking domain.

What they record is anonymous and aggregated - broadly: the page you viewed and any query string on it, the site you arrived from, an approximate location worked out from the network address your request came from (country, region, city), your device type, operating system, browser and connection speed, and page-load performance timings, including which element on the page a particular timing relates to. Neither tool is given the contents of the enquiry form, so your name, email address, phone number and message never reach them. Vercel publishes that what these tools collect is not tied to or associated with any individual or network address and cannot be used to reconstruct your browsing across pages or sites; the identifier used to count a visit is reset every 24 hours. We use this only to see which pages are useful and to keep the site fast. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us at any time to see what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can raise a complaint if you think we've mishandled your personal information. The way to do any of that is the same enquiry form used for everything else on this site - go to the contact page, describe what you're after (for example, “please tell me what you hold on me”), and we'll respond directly, within a reasonable time. We may need to retain some information where we have a legal or accounting reason to keep it.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your complaint, you can take it further with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in what we collect or how we use it. The version published here is the one in force, dated above.
